1. Nature of the tool
Libreta Simple is a mobile and web ledger for independent shopkeepers to organize store credit, payments and customer balances. It is the digital equivalent of a paper ledger, with cloud backup.
2. Not a financial service
Libreta Simple is not a bank, credit union, pawnshop, debt collection company or regulated financial institution in any country. It does not provide loans, charge interest or issue tax invoices, and has no licence to act as a financial intermediary.
3. Not professional advice
Records, reports, statistics and calculations are informational and for the shopkeeper’s personal use. They do not replace professional accounting, tax audits, legal advice or any other regulated professional service. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction for tax returns, certified financial statements or debt collection advice.
4. Not a legally binding debt instrument
Records are the shopkeeper’s private notes. They are not promissory notes, bills of exchange, loan contracts, acknowledgments of debt or any other binding legal instrument. Do not present them to courts, notaries, mediators or administrative authorities to demand payment unless local law expressly permits such records as evidence. Formalize debts using your country’s legal instruments, such as notarized notes, signed written contracts or commercial invoices.
5. Responsibility for other people’s data
When entering customer names, phone numbers, addresses and purchase notes, you become the controller of that personal data under applicable law. Libreta Simple acts only as a processor providing technical infrastructure. You must:
- Obtain verbal or written customer consent for recording their data.
- Use it only for the stated purpose of managing receivables.
- Not share, sell or distribute customer personal data to third parties.
- Delete a customer’s records if requested.
6. Payment reminders
WhatsApp, SMS and similar tools prepare messages that you may send to customers. Libreta Simple does not send these messages automatically. You decide whether, when and to whom to send them, and are responsible for their content, tone, frequency and legality.
7. Data loss
The app implements security and backup measures such as SQLCipher, Cloudflare backup and exportable files. Recovery is not guaranteed after:
- Uninstalling without connecting Google or exporting a backup.
- Losing, damaging or having a device stolen without a backup.
- Deleting the cloud copy yourself.
- Third-party service failures beyond our control.
- Human error when deleting customers or transactions.
8. Misuse
Do not use Libreta Simple for usury, illegal interest or unregulated credit practices; harassment or intimidation; storing sensitive health, biometric or customer banking information; or any activity unlawful in your country.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NeoRoot and the Libreta Simple team accept no liability for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages from using or being unable to use the app, including loss of income, data, business opportunities or reputation.
