Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 19 October 2026

English translation. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using Libreta Simple or its website, you accept these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree, do not use the service. The developer is NeoRoot.

2. Service description

Libreta Simple is a digital ledger for independent shopkeepers to record store credit, payments and customer balances. Records work offline on your phone. Optional Google account services provide backup and the web Viewer according to the selected plan. It is a recordkeeping tool, not a bank, regulated financial institution, judicial collection agency or accounting/legal adviser. Credit agreements remain the sole responsibility of the shopkeeper and customer.

3. Financial disclaimer

The app’s records are private digital notes, not legal documents, promissory notes, credit contracts or admissible evidence before courts unless local law provides otherwise. Payment reminders are private communications between shopkeeper and customer; Libreta Simple is not responsible for disputes, misunderstandings or harm arising from those communications.

4. Plans, subscriptions and free trials

Free includes one business. Pro supports up to three independent businesses, no ads, cloud backup, the PC Viewer and premium reports. Business includes Pro features, up to six businesses and private customer statement links. Features and local prices are shown before purchase.

Google Play processes subscription payments and automatic renewals. Monthly or annual billing continues until cancelled in Google Play → Payments and subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and does not delete local records. A seven-day Pro trial is available only when Google Play offers it to the account; the purchase screen shows its duration, the price afterward and the first charge date. You can choose to pay immediately without a trial. Business has no free trial.

Free users may voluntarily watch an ad for one customer PDF; it does not grant Pro or Excel. Cloud, Viewer and shared-link use is subject to reasonable limits and anti-abuse controls to protect availability. If a limit is reached, the app retries.

5. Your responsibilities

6. Your customers’ data: processing agreement

Customer names, phone numbers, amounts and notes belong to your business. You are the data controller; Libreta Simple acts as processor when cloud backup is enabled. We undertake to:

As controller, you must have a legitimate reason to keep customer records, avoid unnecessary or sensitive information such as health or religion, and address customer requests to correct or delete their records in the app.

7. Retention and deletion

Business statement links must be sent only to the intended customer. Anyone with the link can view the customer name, balance and latest 100 backup transactions until it expires after 1, 5, 12 or 24 hours, or is revoked. Statements are read-only, do not accept payments and exclude browser drafts. Revoke one or all links in the Viewer, including after the plan ends. Losing the plan blocks access without deleting the ledger. Expired encrypted projections are removed by the next daily cleanup, within 24 hours; account deletion removes links. This does not authorize our team to view your data.

We store a hash of the link and an encrypted projection. Statements may use an encrypted cached copy for up to 60 seconds; changes or revocations may take that long to propagate. Expiry is also checked for cached copies. An open statement cannot retract information someone has already seen or copied; reload to obtain changes. Expired links and projections are removed by daily cleanup within the following 24 hours. Access is also blocked when the account is deleted or the customer is removed from the backup.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NeoRoot and the Libreta Simple team are not liable for:

9. No judicial debt collection

The app is a personal recordkeeping tool. Its records are not legal collection instruments and must not be used as such in judicial, notarial or administrative proceedings. To formalize a debt, use instruments recognized in your jurisdiction, such as promissory notes, written contracts or tax invoices.

10. Intellectual property

The source code, visual design, icons, text, database structure and Libreta Simple brand belong to NeoRoot. Reproduction, distribution or modification requires prior written permission except as allowed by applicable open-source licenses.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ecuador. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably are submitted to the ordinary courts of Quito, Ecuador, with the parties waiving any other jurisdiction that might otherwise apply.

12. Changes

We may update these terms to reflect technical improvements, new features or legal requirements. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this website. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Contact
